Christelle’s Story
Christelle’s ten year old self would never believe that she helps people achieve their health and fitness goals, but she would also be incredibly proud.
Christelle was constantly told to lose weight and exercise as a kid. Her peers would make fun of her weight, family members told her to hop on the scale and stop eating, and teachers would criticise her school lunch. When she was nine years old, she finished last in her school’s cross country and felt extremely incapable.
It is safe to say that Christelle has been aware of her body from a very young age. When she reached puberty, she lost all the weight, and she finally fit into society’s body standard. She was getting compliments, making new friends and even qualified to compete in her high school’s regional cross country. However, the way that she saw herself never changed. Christelle developed eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Her mental health worsened in her early twenties. She became so anxious that she would wake up and find it hard to breath. She was not exercising, although she liked the idea of it and she was always thinking about food.
When the lockdown hit, it felt like the perfect time to change. Christelle started exercising for 10 minutes everyday to get stronger and feel better. She practiced daily gratitude and a positive mindset while healing her relationship with food. These small daily changes TRANSFORMED her life.
Since then, she gained the confidence that she could achieve anything she sets her mind to.
MOVEMENT EMPOWERED her in every aspect of her life.
She then decided that she would make it her purpose to help others become Empowered through Movement.
